The Dr. Margarete Fischer-Bosch Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, Stuttgart (Director Prof. Dr. M. Schwab) is operated by the Robert Bosch Foundation. Since its foundation in 1973, the institute has emerged as Germany's largest and most renowned scientific research unit in the field of clinical pharmacology. Main research activities concentrate on the influence of genetic and non-genetic factors on variability of drug efficacy and their contributions to disease development. For a graduate program focusing on «Non-canonical G protein signaling: Mechanism, Functions, Consequences». The PhD project will address various aspects of cancer therapy and tumor cell biology through -omics data analysis. The project will be closely linked to clinical aspects of cancer research.

Ihr Profil

Master degree (M.Sc.) in bioinformatics, applied bioinformatics or a related discipline Experience and strong background in the analysis of bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data and data interpretation Experience in the analysis of multi-omics datasets (e.g. proteomics, transcriptomics, genomics) Strong programming skills in R, and preferably in Python Solid background in cancer biology Good knowledge in biostatistics would be beneficial Interest in oncology and personalized medicine Excellent English written and oral communication skills

Ihre Aufgaben

Bioinformatic analysis of multi-omics data to elucidate the role of nucleoside diphosphate kinases (NDPK) in the tumor microenvironment and their potential influence on cancer progression and metastasis Characterization of primary tumors and metastasis using multi-omics data sets (e.g. genomics, metabolomics) with focus on single-cell and spatial transcriptomics RNA sequencing data Integrated analysis of clinical phenotypes and -omics data using biostatistics and bioinformatics Application of a broad spectrum of established and new bioinformatics analysis strategies with focus on single-cell and spatial transcriptomics RNA seq and data integration Capacity and enthusiasm to undertake the training activities of a graduate program supported by programs of the Faculty of Medicine and the Graduate Academy of the University of Tuebingen to ensure greatest possible success in your career track
